Philosophy of Wisdom Teeth Only

WISDOM TEETH are common - almost everybody has them and almost everybody needs them removed. (See "QUICK FACTS")

WISDOM TEETH surgery, however, is a different matter; not all wisdom teeth are created equal. Only competent Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons should be trusted to remove your wisdom teeth (although occasionally family dentists will try). Oral Surgeons have 4-5 years of extra graduate school training, and they perform all aspects of the Specialty - from the routine to the most difficult - on a regular basis.

PATIENT COMFORT and SAFETY during wisdom teeth surgery is also essential. Family dentists usually give simple dental shots - local anesthetics - for patient comfort (although some add "sedative" tablets and/or nitrous oxide -"laughing gas" - as a worrisome concoction). Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, on the other hand, are trained in all aspects of anesthesia and sedation, which entails being constantly vigilant and formally certified in patient monitoring and safety. Any anesthesia service - whether it be giving sedatives, narcotic medications, and/or anesthetic gasesĀ  - should be administered by a fully-trained professional, i.e., a licensed Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon (OMS), a medical or dental Anesthesiologist, or a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). PATIENT COMFORT and PATIENT SAFETY are essential parts of your total care and well-being during wisdom teeth surgery.

WISDOM TEETH ONLY exists to provide you with bonafide professional referrals to licensed, full-scope Board-certified or -qualified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons that will manage all aspects of your wisdom teeth and anesthesia care. You can trust Wisdom Teeth Only to have the knowledge, experience, and dedication to patient safety, patient comfort, and doctor expertise that will make the removal of your wisdom teeth pleasant and worry-free.
